ARIS:  ARTIST RESIDENCY IN THE SMOKIES!

The mission of DANCE ARIS is to increase classical and contemporary dance offerings in and around Haywood County through a recurring residency for professional dance.  The residency brings new, high-quality staged performances to our seasoned audiences while also providing classes and outreach activities to schools and underserved communities in the region, to increase younger generations' and engagement with dance!

Presented by THE HAYWOOD COUNTY ARTS COUNCIL!

The stars were not only on the stage, but were the audience as well.  It was a Who's Who evening with a cocktail reception prior to the delicious Buffet, prepared by the Head Chef of HART, Christy L. Bishop, to the after performance of brie, crackers  and homemade cookies served with coffee.  Those people in support of this organization should be extremely proud not only for this special evening, but the opportunities offered through classes and outreach activities to schools and underserved communities in the region.  Congratulations to each and every one of you!

On August 25 and 26, 2017, Haywood County Arts Council and the HART'S Fangmeyer Theatre combined and brought the citizens of the community together and gave us an evening like being in New York at Carnegie Hall.  It had the atmosphere and the brilliance of professional dancers giving high staged performances to the seasoned audience.  It was standing ovations, screams of Bravo and much applause as each dancer graced the stage.

The DANCE ARIS GALA under the direction of the HAYWOOD COUNTY ARTS COUNCIL was a complete success and left each person wanting more.  For 40 years the support from the Western North Carolina area to the HAYWARD COUNTY ARTS COUNCIL (HCAC) has been graciously appreciated.  As the Arts leader in Haywood County, they serve every aspect of the arts through the cultural opportunities and preserve our mountain artistic heritage.
