HENDERSONVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA
A NORTH CAROLINA PARADISE
The Charm of Hendersonville, North Carolina
By Glenn Arnette, lll
It truly is a paradise located in Henderson County nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. It is the “little Charleston of the Mountains” and a “real charmer” for millions of families who visit from around the world. It is a place for art, crafts, antiques, shopping, outdoor adventures, attractions and festivals, a place where there is something for everyone and every age. Welcome to Hendersonville, North Carolina!
When you visit Hendersonville you are surrounded by unsurpassed beauty. It surpasses the “glow of the Aspen trees in Colorado” and equals “the magnificence of a setting sun.” There is a special kind of peace in the mountains where each person treasures life and all of its offerings. Hendersonville, North Carolina has never lost its quality for life. Even in today’s economy, you will find the best value for your dollar and vacation opportunities packed with adventure.
Hendersonville is a family place where you can be yourself and meet the finest and most loving people around. With open arms, the people of Hendersonville will greet each and every visitor with a smile and offer excellent service.
If you enjoy comfortable accommodations, good theatre, excellent food, museums, great shopping in unique shops, you should start on Main Street of Hendersonville, North Carolina. How about a little “liver mush” and a “bowl of Grits” with a couple fried eggs for breakfast or try “sausage gravy” spooned over a biscuit with a few slices of country ham. Save room for homemade pies and cakes from the City Market and then walk a couple blocks to McFarlan Bakeryfor just about anything sweet and freshly baked you could ever imagine. Now lunch is always exciting and there are many outdoor places to dine and the specialty sandwiches of Southern chicken salad or homemade tuna salad with please your pallet. My favorite on this visit was A Day In The Country at their Café On The Veranda!
For dinner, well that is another story! The choices are beyond the imagination for this small community.
