What a fantastic way to spend your time in Cherokee, North Carolina at the 40th Annual PowWow experiencing Authentic Indian dancing, drumming and tribal regalia. This is a wonderful family experience and if you have never been to a PowWow, you have missed one of the most exciting things to do in the United States. Ranked as one of the best in the Country, it is the showplace of native dance, art and culture in the Southeast. The event honors the collective history, customs and wisdom of some of the oldest documented tribes. From crafts to food, you will enjoy the competition including drums, song and dance; i.e., Traditional, Fancy Shawl, Grass, Two Step, Jingle and the Daniel French Memorial dance competitions.
