BUCKHORN RIDGE STUDIOS,
What is so wonderful about about this show is the quality of the Crafts. There is a sophistication and elegance presented by each person showing in the Fair. The booth layouts are open enough where you do not walk over people and you have the space and time to enjoy your visit. From clothing to jewelry, glass work to clay including those wonderful whimsical items, you will have the time of your life relaxing and enjoying every minute of each artists dream. There are demonstrations throughout the event and lots of entertainment for you to enjoy while shopping! For additional information contact them at 828-298-7928 or go to www.craftguild.org.
Over the weekend, I had the pleasure of attending the 68th Annual Craft Fair of the Southern Highlands. " Each exibitor is a member of the Southern Highlands Craft Guild. To become a member craftspeople must live in the mountains of our nine state region, from Maryland to Alabama. They then prove mastery of their craft through a rigorous jury process. The Guild is an educational non-profit organization established in 1930 whose mission is to bring together the crafts and craftspeople of the Southern Highlands for the benefit of shared resources, education, marketing and conservation."
Next year this quality Craft Show will be on July 21-24 and October 20-23. (2016) It is held at the Asheville Convention Center. However, there is one more show scheduled
in October 15-18, 2015. There is a small admission charged. For your interest: There is a $5 parking charge in the garage located just to the side of the Convention Center directly behind the Library. You can walk through from the 5th floor directly to the Street without climbing a hill!
