If you have not been to the Hazel Robinson Amphitheatre, you have missed out on of the most fun nights in theatre.  Not only have the Montford Players been around for 44 Seasons and Shapespeare for over 400 years, the production flows beautifully with qualified actors and the direction and sound design of SCOTT KEEL.  He was also recently named the Director of the Montford Players, and is considered to  be Asheville Theatre Royalty!

Shakespeare is alive and well in the Hazel Robinson Amphitheatre in the Montford area or Asheville, North Carolina.

Remember to call and check on the summer schedule!

Congratulations Montford Players for a job well done!

What would Montford Park Players do without the talents of the Managing Director?

JOHN RUSSELL is truly a leader who is highly respected for the work he does by promoting Talent, Shakespeare and Asheville.  Frankly, when John stands in front of his audience to welcome you to the theatre, he truly means it!  He is a class act and a gentleman!

Spend an evening under the stars with Shakespeare.  It is truly one of the most beautiful outdoor setting you can enjoy!

MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING revolves around obstacles to the union of two young lovers. Claudio falls in love with Hero,

Leonato's daughter.  Then Don Pedro agrees to woe Hero for Claudio at a reception that evening .  Don John, Pedro's bastard brother, plots with his two men, Borachio and Conrade to do some wickedness.with a sub plot of the "merry war" of the sexes between Beatrice and Benedick.  It the good versus the bad, with hysteria along the way.  It is so much fun and the actions of each character will keep you riveted with the plot twists!

MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING is not a small cast.  It takes many people on the stage performing and a tremendous crew to keep Shakespeare alive.  This production will not disappoint you, as it is light and keeps your interest throughout the evening.  Most Shakespeare productions are dark, but this one is funny with eccentric characters and staged beautifully.  It all about love, sexual innuendos, dancing, audience participation and so much more.  Careful, if you are sitting on the front row, a character may come up to you and ask for a glass of your wine!  Even Shakespeare is no fool!

Excellent performance by

Jane Hallstrom as Innogen.  She also serves of the board of the Montford Players.

One of the most amazing thing about the production is that the seats are FREE. For whatever you choose to donate, you will be entertained by some of the top actors in the area.  It is an exciting time for all of your family and friends!

Pictured:  Jason Williams as Borachio.  Jason is another seasoned actor and is often seen on many stages throughout the area.  He has also Directed with the Montford Players.
